The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) plunged to a 15-month intraday low on Thursday as the Turkish lira crisis continued to affect market sentiment.

However, the KOSPI managed to recover some of its losses and closed the day down 18-point-11 points or point-80 percent, ending at two-thousand-240-point-80.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing point-76 point, or point-10 percent, to close the day at 761-point-18.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened two-point-two won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-130-point-one won.
