President Moon Jae-in has promised to enhance South Korea’s cooperation with India to better support Koreans living in the Asian country.

The president made the promise on Monday during a meeting with South Korean residents and business representatives in New Delhi.

Moon, who arrived in India on Sunday for a four-day state visit, said that the government will work to make sure the development of the relationship between the two countries will lead to changes in the lives of fellow Koreans in India.

The president said that the countries' two leaders will hold regular summit talks and visits to achieve this goal.

Moon added that the government will also greatly expand business opportunities for South Korean companies by expanding practical cooperation between the two countries.

He also pledged to strengthen its cooperation in consular services by setting up a joint consultative body between the two nations to improve issues related to visa issuance.
