The top diplomats of South Korea, the United States and Japan held talks on Sunday in Tokyo to discuss cooperation on North Korea's denuclearization.

During the talks, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo briefed his South Korean and Japanese counterparts Kang Kyung-wha and Taro Konoon the results of his two-day talks in Pyongyang on the North's denuclearization.

In a joint press conference after the talks, the top diplomats reaffirmed that the three nations will work together to achieve the goal of the North's complete denuclearization.

In addition, the top envoys reportedly discussed a timeline for the North's denuclearization during talks.

Pompeo also reaffirmed that the Trump administration won't lift sanctions against Pyongyang until its final, fully-verified denuclearization.

Minister Kang is set to hold separate bilateral talks with Pompeo on Sunday afternoon to discuss cooperation on the North Korean issues.
