KOSPI Closes Friday 0.68% Higher

Seoul stocks narrowed losses caused by escalating tensions over a possible trade war between the United States and China, as institutional investors bought up shares.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) recovered from its lowest close in 14 months on Thursday, to end Friday up.
 
The KOSPI added 15-point-32 points, or point-68 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-272-point-87. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 14-point-84 points, or one-point-87 percent. It closed the day at 808-point-89. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened two-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-115-point-nine won.
