The two Koreas have held talks in Pyongyang on hosting additional joint sports events following the two-day inter-Korean basketball matches that took place in the North Korean capital through Thursday.

The South Korean Unification Ministry on Friday confirmed the two sides held working-level consultations late Thursday through early Friday on the North's participation in the upcoming international table tennis and shooting tournaments to be held in South Korea.

Also on the agenda were a joint march at the opening ceremony of the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia and the use of a unified flag.

Thursday's consultations at Koryo Hotel were led by South Korea's Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-kang and his North Korean counterpart Won Kil-u.

The meeting was arranged after the vice chairman of the Central Committee of the North's Workers' Party Kim Yong-chol suggested consultations on future sports cooperation earlier in the day.
