South Korea's Olympic team defeated their Japanese counterparts 2-1 Wednesday in a soccer friendly held in Seoul's World Cup Stadium.

Two first-half goals fired in by Kim Dong-jin were enough for the South Koreans, as their team held on and outlasted a spirited Japanese comeback in the match's final 10 minutes.

Kim scored early on, and increased his team's lead 12 minutes before the half on a clear swing that was deflected past the outstretched arms of the Japanese goalkeeper.
