Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon says the government hopes to lower the cost of hydrogen powered cars and increase the number of charging stations.

It's part of a broader effort to expand the use of pollution free vehicles.

The government said it will first aim to lower the price tag of hydrogen cars by about 30 percent from the current 70 million won to 50 million won by utilizing more domestic auto parts.

The annual output of hydrogen vehicles will also be bumped up from one thousand units at present to ten-thousand.

The government has set a goal to supply 350-thousand electric cars and 15-thousand hydrogen-powered cars by the year 2022.
