The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose on Tuesday as gains on Wall Street helped boost investor sentiment.

The KOSPI added six points, or point-25 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-453-point-76.

Wall Street's three major indexes rose on Monday, led by a surge in tech stocks, helping to push the NASDAQ to a record closing high.

Meanwhile, the tech-heavy KOSDAQ weakened slightly, losing point-28 points, or point-03 percent, closing at 877-point-16.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened one-point-two won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-70-point-seven won.
