S. Korea's Business Sentiment Worsens for June

South Korean firms' business sentiment worsened a month after a recovery due to rising prices of crude oil and raw materials.

According to the Korea Economic Research Institute on Wednesday, the nation's business survey index(BSI) outlook for June came to 95-point-two, falling below the benchmark 100.

The BSI outlook for April marked 96-point-three and the figure for May increased to 100-point-three, but the June index has slipped below the 100 mark again.

The BSI measures corporate confidence. A BSI reading of over 100 indicates that more companies are optimistic about their economic prospects than those that are pessimistic. This month's survey asked the nation's top 600 companies for their opinion on sales.
