South Korea's presidential office says it may consider contacting North Korea again to resume high-level talks, which were abruptly canceled by the North last week.

A senior presidential official told reporters on Thursday that it appears the Seoul government has not proposed specific dates to resume talks, but it could attempt contact again on the matter.

Regarding a hotline conversation between the leaders of the two Koreas, the official said that nothing has been decided on the matter yet.

During summit talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday, President Moon Jae-in projected that inter-Korean dialogue will likely resume after Seoul and Washington wrap up their joint Max Thunder military drills on Friday. North Korea canceled the planned high-level talks last week, citing the air drills.
