The National Tax Service has informed auto parts company DAS to pay roughly 40 billion won in taxes.

According to related authorities on Tuesday, the tax agency gave the notification after concluding a special probe on the firm, believed to be owned by former President Lee Myung-bak. 

The agency also put DAS’ head office and factories, estimated at some 70 billion won, under provisional attachment. 

The tax agency’s Seoul office had launched a probe on DAS in January over allegations of tax evasion and managing bank accounts under borrowed names.
