KOSPI Closes 0.55% Higher on Friday

South Korean stocks closed higher on Friday amid rising optimism for next month’s U.S.-North Korea summit.   

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose 13-point-55 points, or point-55 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-477-point-71.  

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining eleven points, or one-point-29 percent, closing at 865-point-93. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened three-point-eight won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-69-point-three won.
