Prosecutors on Wednesday raided electronics giant LG Group's finance team on allegations of tax evasion by the conglomerate's controlling family. 

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office sent investigators to the company’s headquarters in Yeouido, western Seoul and seized tax and accounting-related materials. 

The raid came after the National Tax Service filed a complaint against Chairman Koo Bon-moo's family. 

A senior official of the conglomerate said the group is dumbfounded with the surprise raid, but will actively cooperate in the investigation.
