Samsung Executive Probed Over Alleged Labor Union Sabotage

Prosecutors questioned an executive of Samsung Electronics' after-service affiliate Tuesday over allegations that his company carried out an organized scheme to disrupt labor union activities among workers.

A senior executive at Samsung Electronics Service, identified by his surname Choi, was summoned for questioning by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

Prosecutors are expected to question the executive about his suspected influential role in sabotaging the establishment of the labor union.

Prosecutors have been probing to confirm whether the alleged sabotage by the affiliate was directed by those higher up in the company hierarchy, including Samsung Electronics' leadership or Samsung Group's now-disbanded control tower.
