The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Wednesday fell nine-point-77 points, or point-39 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-505-point-61.  

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing four-point-92 points, or point-56 percent, to end at 871-point-03. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened eight-point-one won against the dollar as the greenback gained in global markets, ending the session at one-thousand-76-point-one won.
