US to Slap 41% Antidumping Duties on S. Korean Carbon, Alloy Steel Wire Rod

The U.S. announced its decision to impose antidumping duties on imports of South Korean carbon and alloy steel wire rod, a day after giving Seoul a permanent exemption from import tariffs on steel.

The U.S. International Trade Commission said on Tuesday it had determined that exporters from South Korea, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Britain are dumping carbon and alloy steel wire rod in the U.S.

The commission said that the U.S. Commerce Department will levy 41-point-one percent antidumping duties on imports of the South Korean products.

The decision came a day after the U.S. announced it will permanently exempt South Korea from a 25 percent tariff on steel and a ten percent tariff on aluminum imports.
