The Korean unit of the United States automaker General Motors is working to launch two new vehicles soon to regain customers' trust and promote sales as GM and South Korea recently signed a conditional agreement to revive the troubled carmaker.
GM Korea plans to unveil two new vehicles soon after GM and the Seoul government finalize their agreement in mid-May. It will then start marketing the new models in earnest from June to promote domestic sales.
According to the auto industry on Sunday, GM Korea recently started preparations to launch two new vehicles in South Korea in the first half of the year -- the Equinox compact sport utility vehicle and the Chevrolet Spark minicars.
The Equinox SUV, launched in the United States in 2004, is currently available with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine and a 1.6-liter diesel engine.
The automaker will reportedly launch two additional models including the midsize Chevrolet Traverse SUV in the second half of the year to prop up its slow sales in South Korea.
