Police Raid Korean Air to Probe Assault Allegations

Police on Thursday raided the headquarters of Korean Air as part of their investigation into allegations that the younger daughter of the air carrier’s owner abused her power by throwing water at an advertising agency employee.

Police of Gangseo district in Seoul said six investigators searched for some three hours Cho Hyun-min’s office and the marketing department on the sixth floor of the head office and in the process secured two of Cho’s cell phones.

They also seized two mobile phones of an executive who was present at the meeting held at Korean Air’s headquarters last month during which Cho allegedly yelled and threw water at an ad agency manager's face.

The investigators also obtained Cho and another executive’s computer through the raid.

The police plan to determine whether stories were coordinated or threats were made. Once they finish analyzing the secured evidence from the raid, police plan to mull when to summon Cho for questioning.

Police booked Cho as a suspect on Tuesday on charges of assault and imposed a travel ban on her. The next day, police raided the office of the ad agency and secured audio files stored in the cell phones of participants who were present at the meeting.
