The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Wednesday lost 34-point-37 points, or one-point-41 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-408-point-06.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing nine-point-81 points, or one-point-12 percent. It closed the day at 862-point-51.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened five-point-six won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-59-point-eight won.
