S. Korea's Pipe and Tube Exports to be Hit Hardest by US Tariff Decision

South Korean pipes and tubes are expected to be hit the hardest by the United States’ decision to impose tariffs of 25 percent on steel imports.

The Korea International Trade Association said in a report on Friday that South Korean pipes and tubes account for 20 percent of the U.S.’ import market. South Korea holds the largest share, followed by the European Union and Canada.

South Korea’s exports of pipes and tubes stood at two-point-seven billion dollars last year. Of that total, 60 percent, or one-point-six billion dollars, were shipped to the U.S.
