The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Thursday gained 31-point-26 points, or one-point-30 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-433-point-08.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also surged as foreign and retail investors net bought local stocks. It gained 12-point-91 points, or one-point-54 percent to close the day at 853-point-94.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened one-point-one won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-70-point-two won.
