S. Korea Faces 40 Import Restrictions from US in Feb.

South Korea is under far more import restrictions from the U.S. than any other country in February.

The Korea International Trade Association(KITA) said in its monthly report that South Korea was subject to 196 import regulations from other countries as of Monday, 40 of which were from the U.S.

Of the total American restrictions, 30 cases were anti-dumping investigations, while eight cases were countervailing duties and two were safeguards.

By product, import restrictions on steel and metals were the highest at 28, followed by electrical and electronics with five. The remainder was for chemicals and textile products.

India has 29 import restrictions on South Korean products, the second-most, followed by China with 15 and Turkey with 14.
