Moon's Special Envoys to Visit Pyongyang Monday

President Moon Jae-in's special envoys will visit North Korea on Monday for a two-day trip.

Presidential press secretary Yoon Young-chan said on Sunday in a news briefing that a delegation led by Moon's chief security adviser Chung Eui-yong will visit Pyongyang on Monday via a direct flight over the Yellow Sea.

Yoon said that the dispatch is to reciprocate the recent visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister Kim Yo-jong to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

The five-member delegation also includes National Intelligence Service chief Suh Hoon, Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung, senior NIS director Kim Sang-gyun, and Cheong Wa Dae official Yun Kun-young. Five other working-level officials will also accompany the delegation on the trip.
