Land Minister to Visit Vietnam, Singapore to Expand Economic Cooperation

South Korea's land minister will visit Vietnam and Singapore this week to support local companies' bids for infrastructure projects and enhance cooperation and ties with the Southeast Asian nations.

The ministry said on Sunday that Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mi will embark on a four-day trip on Monday to meet senior officials and businesspeople of those countries.

In Vietnam, the minister will hold a series of meetings with the chiefs of the nation's ministries of construction, transport and environment to expand bilateral cooperation.

In the meetings, Kim will seek ways to help South Korean firms participate in Vietnam's large-scale infrastructure projects.

She will also sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for increased cooperation in the construction, city development and transportation areas.

In Singapore, Kim will hold talks with top officials in charge of housing, city development and smart city and sign an MOU on housing and city development, as well as smart city projects.
