KOSPI Closes 1.17% Lower on Wednesday

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Wednesday lost 28-point-78 points, or one-point-17 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-427-point-36.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also slipped, losing 16-point-95 points, or one-point-94 percent. The loss comes on a disappointing earnings report by market heavyweight Celltrion Healthcare. The KOSDAQ closed the day at 857-point-06.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened eleven-point-five won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-82-point-eight won.
