North Korea has slammed the U.S. for being a hypocrite on nuclear issues, saying the whole world will denuclearize if the U.S. first gives up its nuclear program. 

In an editorial released on Tuesday, the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, pounced on U.S. President Donald Trump's recent remarks in which he said the U.S. is modernizing its nuclear force because other countries are doing so. 

The newspaper argued the U.S. is shameless in taking issue with another country’s nuclear program while refusing to question its “sinful” practices of threatening the survival of the human race with its own nuclear weapons.   

It said President Trump’s insistence that other countries should suspend nuclear development and modernization first is the ignorant belief of a political novice.
