Cheong Wa Dae: Two Koreas Agree to Cooperate for Permanent Peace

South Korea's presidential office says both South and North Korea have agreed to cooperate to make balanced progress for permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula, sustainable development of inter-Korean ties and international cooperation.

Cheong Wa Dae said in a written press briefing that the agreement was made during a luncheon meeting in a Seoul hotel on Monday between chief presidential security adviser Chung Eui-yong and a visiting North Korean delegation led by Kim Yong-chol, a key party official handling inter-Korean affairs.

The top office said the two sides assessed that the PyeongChang Winter Games realized the Olympic spirit of peace and harmony and provided meaningful momentum for peace on the peninsula and the restoration of inter-Korean ties.
