N. Korean Athletes, Cheering Squad Return Home after Olympics

Some 300 North Koreans, including athletes and a cheering squad, returned home on Monday after participating in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

They returned to the North via the Inter-Korean Transit Office on the western border, along with North Korean journalists and officials of the North's National Olympic Committee.

The 229-member cheering squad arrived in South Korea on February seventh following an agreement reached last month during high-level inter-Korean talks.

The cheerleaders attended North Korean athletes' games and the joint inter-Korean ice hockey team's games, as well as some South Korean athletes' matches.

A high-level North Korean delegation visiting the South for three days to attend the closing ceremony of the Olympics still remain.
