North Korea's International Olympic Commission member Chang Ung has shown a positive response to the idea of the two Koreas co-hosting the Asian Winter Games in 2021.
On his return home via Beijing Capital International Airport on Tuesday, Chang commented on the idea floated by Choi Moon-soon, governor of South Korea's Gangwon Province during a news conference last Saturday.
Chang said co-hosting the games is certainly possible and that the ninth Asian Games would be easier to hold than the Olympics as there are fewer countries bidding to host the event.
The North Korean official also gave a positive response to Choi's suggestion of using the North's Masikryong Ski Resort in Wonsan.
When asked for an overview of the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games, Chang said it achieved full marks and that it was splendid. He also said the games had brought together the Korean people.
