Airline Fuel Surcharges to Rise Next Month

As global oil prices continue to rise, airline fuel surcharges for international flights will increase again next month.

According to industry sources, the surcharge level will rise from level four to five next month.

This means international air tickets purchased from next month will include fuel surcharge of as much as 56-thousand-100 won for a one-way flight.

There was zero surcharge from May to September last year after which the rate began to rise to reach level four this month for a maximum surcharge of 46-thousand-200 won.

Airfare fuel surcharges are levied in phases when the average jet fuel price in Singapore rises above 150 cents per gallon.
