The benchmark Korean Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday rose 20-point-99 points, or zero-point-87 percent, to close at two-thousand-442-point-82.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ surged 27-point-78 points or three-point-28 percent as investors snapped up shares of bio and healthcare companies. The secondary bourse ended the session at 875-point-81.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened nine-point-six won against the greenback, closing the day at one-thousand-67-point-six won.
