Gov't to Pursue Follow-Up Measures to N. Korean Delegation's Trip

South Korean government ministries will coordinate follow-up measures aimed at improving cross-border ties following the three-day visit of North Korea's high-level delegation to the South.

Unification Ministry Spokesman Baik Tae-hyun unveiled the decision to reporters on Monday, noting that the visit of North Korea's ceremonial head of state and a member of the ruling Kim family demonstrates the regime's strong intentions to improve inter-Korean relations.

Baik said the trip had marked the starting point for comprehensive discussions on South-North relations and issues surrounding the Korean peninsula, provided the right conditions are created.

The spokesman added that South Korea and the U.S. are closely cooperating to peacefully resolve the North's nuclear issue.
