President Moon Jae-in and North Korea's ceremonial head of state Kim Yong-nam will watch the inter-Korean women's ice hockey team play in their Olympic debut together on Saturday.
Seoul's top office said that President Moon will watch the event starting at 9:10 p.m. at the Kwandong Hockey Centre in Gangneung together with Kim, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and president of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset and his wife.
This will mark the fourth meeting between President Moon and the North Korean parliamentary leader since he arrived in South Korea Friday for the PyeongChang Olympics. Moon also met him at a reception as well as the opening ceremony on Friday and a meeting earlier Saturday at the presidential office.
Before the ice hockey match, the president will also visit the Gangneung Ice Arena where preliminary matches in men's and women's short track speed skating begin at 7:40 p.m.
A presidential official told reporters that Moon will stay until the men's semifinal stage and then head to the Kwandong Hockey Centre to watch and cheer for the joint inter-Korean ice hockey match and encourage the players.
