The North Korean art troupe visiting South Korea for the PyeongChang Olympics finished its schedule in Gangneung Saturday morning and headed to Seoul for its last concert in the country.
The North Korean ferry Mangyongbong-92 arrived in the South carrying the performers on Tuesday and also served as their accommodation during their stay in Gangneung.
The ferry also left the port of Mukho and returned to the North immediately after the North Koreans departed for the South Korean capital.
The North had requested fuel supply for the vessel which South Korea had reviewed but the request was eventually withdrawn due to differing views over the amount between the two sides.
A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said that Pyongyang is believed to have said during discussions that it will not receive the fuel supply in order not to cause any trouble to South Korea.
UN Security Council sanctions adopted in December impose a cap on the supply of refined oil goods to North Korea at no more than 500-thousand barrels a year.
The North Korean art troupe performed at the Gangneung Arts Center on Thursday. In Seoul, they will perform at the National Theater of Korea on Sunday and return home to the North on Monday via the western border land route.
