Gov't Seeks to Create 800,000 Jobs for Elderly by 2022

The government is targeting to create 800-thousand jobs for the elderly in the next five years.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare on Friday confirmed its second comprehensive plans for senior citizens to be implemented between this year and 2022, one of which is the job creation plan.

Under the first five-year comprehensive plans carried out through last year, 437-thousand jobs were provided for the elderly population.

The ministry said the new comprehensive plans will aim to create not only more jobs for the elderly but better quality jobs for them, adding they will also help the elderly strengthen their social competitiveness and activities.
