N. Korea Appears to Have Held Military Parade

North Korea is believed to have held its massive military parade marking the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Army.

A South Korean government source said the parade is believed to have been staged at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pyongyang's Kim Il-sung Square.

Some 50-thousand North Koreans, including 13-thousand troops, are believed to have participated in the event.

Seoul officials are closely watching whether the North's Korean Central Television will broadcast scenes from the parade on Thursday afternoon.
