The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Tuesday fell 38-point-44 points, or one-point-54 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-453-point-31.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing point-05 points, or point-01 percent. It closed the day at 858-point-17.

The KOSPI and KOSDAQ lost more than two percent and five percent respectively in midday trading following losses on Wall Street due to a lack of upside momentum in the markets, but narrowed their losses.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened three won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-91-point-five won.
