Preparation and training for a military parade appear to be gradually expanding at the Mirim Parade Training Facility in North Korea.
According to satellite imagery analyzed by U.S.-based North Korea monitoring Web site 38 North, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of personnel and vehicles present.
The report released Wednesday said that as of January 28th, there were at least 12-thousand troops and 110 artillery pieces, tanks, armored personnel carriers and armored fighting vehicles practicing on the training grounds.
However, the Web site said that unlike in the past, there are no signs of a "tent city" being erected at the facility, suggesting this parade will be relatively smaller in scale.
North Korea appears to be preparing for a ceremony to mark the newly designated founding anniversary of its military forces on February eight, a day before the opening of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
