KOSPI Renews Record High

South Korea's benchmark stock index renewed its record high for the third consecutive session and broke the two-thousand-600 threshold for the first time on Monday following net purchases of local stocks by foreign and institutional investors. 

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) hit two-thousand-607-point-one during intraday trading before eventually closing at two-thousand-598-point-19, marking a rise of 23-point-43 points, or point-91 percent.   

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also surged, gaining 13-point-93 points, or one-point-53 percent, to close the day at 927-point-05. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened one-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-65-point-six won.
