The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Tuesday rose 34-point-49 points, or one-point-38 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-536-point-60.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also surged, gaining 21-point-34 points, or two-point-44 percent, to close the day at 894-point-43. The secondary market was boosted by a turnaround in shares of top cap biopharmaceutical firm Celltrion.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened point-one won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-70-point-two won.
