South Korea’s exports of information and communications technology(ICT) products reached a record high level last year. 

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Tuesday that the country exported 197-point-six billion dollars worth of ICT products last year, marking the first time South Korean ICT goods worth over 190 billion dollars were sold to other countries.  

The exports of semiconductor led the way, jumping by 60-point-two percent from 2016 to 99-point-68 billion dollars. This is the first time the country exported more than 90 billion dollars worth of goods from a single ICT sector. 

Exports of displays grew by seven-point-eight percent to 30-point-29 billion dollars, while the exports of computers and peripheral devices rose ten percent to nine-point-64 billion dollars.
