South Korea has accepted North Korea’s proposal to hold a follow-up meeting to their high-level talks this week. 

Seoul’s Unification Ministry announced on Monday that it agreed to a “working-level” meeting at the Peace House at the truce village of Panmunjeom at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. 

The North plans to send three officials, including Jon Jong-su, vice chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland. South Korea earlier notified the North that it would be sending a three-member delegation led by Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung.

While agreeing on the North’s participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics during their first high-level talks in nearly two years last Tuesday, the two Koreas also said they would hold a working-level meeting to discuss the details of the agreement. 

The South initially proposed the working-level meeting be held on Monday, but the North made a counterproposal to first discuss issues regarding the venue and schedule for a North Korean art troupe to accompany the North's delegation to PyeongChang. 

The South accepted and the two Koreas met over the North Korean art performers' trip to the South on Monday. Later in the day, the North proposed another meeting be held Wednesday at Panmunjeom.
