Jeju Int'l Airport's Runways Reopen After Being Closed Due to Snow

Runway use at Jeju International Airport normalized from 11:10 a.m. Thursday after airstrips were tentatively closed earlier in the day due to heavy snowfall.

According to the Korea Airports Corporation’s Jeju office, flight services were suspended from 8:33 a.m. Thursday in order to remove snow from the runways.

Initially, airport authorities planned to reopen the airstrips from 9:45 a.m. but had to delay the time until 11 a.m.

As of 10 a.m., 29 flights were canceled and 38 were delayed, with some two-thousand passengers estimated to be stuck in the airport.
