Seoul says it is willing to quickly launch discussions with North Korea to confirm the details of the North’s participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. 

Unification Ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun was asked during a regular press briefing Wednesday whether it is possible for the two Koreas to start working-level talks to discuss the matter as early as this week. He said the South always keeps the door open for such talks. 

He added that the two Koreas will hold the working-level talks as soon as they confirm the date through document exchanges. 

During the high-level inter-Korean talks on Tuesday, the two Koreas agreed to hold working-level talks to discuss the details of the North’s participation in the PyeongChang Games.
