The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Friday surged 31-point-06 points, or one-point-26 percent, closing the day at two-thousand-497-point-52.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also gained, adding 20-point-02 points, or two-point-48 percent. It closed the day at 828-point-03, renewing a ten-year high.
The rises come on the back of a strengthening global stock rally. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished above 25-thousand for the first time on Thursday.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened point-five won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-62-point-seven won.
