Finance Minister, BOK Chief Agree on Need to Manage Economic Risks

The chiefs of South Korea's Finance Ministry and the central bank have agreed on the need to thoroughly manage economic risks and uncertainties from home and abroad. 
 
Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon and Bank of Korea(BOK) Governor Lee Ju-yeol said they reached the agreement in a breakfast meeting on Thursday in central Seoul.

At the start of the meeting, the minister said that he and the BOK chief will exchange views on ways to cooperate between the country's fiscal and monetary authorities to properly manage and remove risks and economic uncertainties.

The BOK chief said that the country is expected to maintain the current growth, but there are many risks and uncertainties requiring the country's keen attention and proper response. 

The finance minister said that the economy grew over three percent last year in spite of difficult conditions, and the government will do its best to maintain the growth pace and improve the quality of the people's lives this year.
