South Korea has drawn record high foreign direct investment(FDI).  

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Wednesday the foreign direct investment reported last year reached 22-point-94 billion dollars last year, up seven-point-seven percent from a year earlier. 

It marks the third consecutive year it has surpassed the 20-billion-dollar mark. 

The ministry attributed the increase to various factors, including South Korea’s strong credit ratings, more cooperation between local and foreign firms, and a boost in fourth Industrial Revolution-related investment.
