Industrial Output Rebounds in November

South Korea's industrial output rebounded in November, and consumption and corporate investment posted sharp increases.

According to Statistics Korea on Thursday, the country's overall industrial output increased one-point-two percent on-month in November.

Industrial output remained flat in August and gained point-eight percent in September, but decreased one-point-eight percent in October.

Retail sales, an economic indicator for consumption, gained five-point-six percent last month, marking the largest growth in almost nine years, propelled by large discount events and the release of new smartphones.

The retail sales index also posted a record high thanks to a sharp increase in consumption.

Corporate investment jumped ten-point-one percent, the largest increase since it rose 13-point-four percent in March, boosted by investments in the auto sector.
