S. Korea's Economy Next Year to Focus on Jobs, Innovative Growth and Boosting Birthrate

South Korea's economic policies next year are set to focus on boosting jobs, innovative growth and the country's birthrate.

Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon says a 2018 economic policy blueprint set to be released next week aims to enact measure to increase employment and income despite harsh job market conditions presumed to be ahead.

He said the government will ensure the financial stability of the national health insurance fund, by adjusting deposit collection and ramping up subsidies.

Kim did offer reassurance that the South Korean economy has been maintaining a steady growth rate of three-percent.
