'S. Korea to Improve ISD in FTA Talks with US'

South Korea's Trade Minister Kim Hyun-chong says that the government will seek to revise the investor-state dispute settlement(ISDs) clause in the upcoming talks to amend the free trade agreement with the U.S.

The minister made the remarks on Monday during a plenary session of the parliamentary trade committee at the National Assembly.

Minister Kim also said that there is a possibility that the U.S. could demand Seoul improve market access in auto parts by lowering non-tariff barriers.

The minister, however, reaffirmed that the government will protect the local agriculture industry in the talks, adding if the U.S. makes fresh requests on the sector, Seoul will also have to make demands on sensitive areas for the U.S.
